Nick Griggs - "I can see this year being more of a challenge and can’t wait to get started!"

Are you excited for the summer?
I am really looking forward to it. It was great for us to do so well last season, but I can see this year being more of a challenge and can’t wait to get started!

Are you excited to be moving into the Whitings league 2, what is a realistic goal for the season?
I think a mid-table finish would be great for us. We have been extremely successful in the last few seasons, but I can see this season being our biggest challenge yet and if we can secure mid table I think we’d have done well.

The new players that have joined where do you see them fitting in?
We have been screaming out for a seamer for a while now, so securing Chris has been a huge bonus. Steve will add real experience to the side, and hopefully loads of wickets!

The 1st team have added to their squad, does that help strengthen the 2s also?
Of course, it benefits the whole club when the 1s strengthen and we are lucky enough to have a few players that are happy to play for the 2s when needed which is great. It also means we are less likely to lose our key players which is extremely beneficial.

The club has brought some exciting players what do you see this doing for the club?
The signing of Pete (Hatzoglou) and Nathan (Buck) are real coups and it just adds to what we are trying to achieve as a club. The signings promote the club in such a good way that it just attracts players both for the adult sides and arguably more importantly the juniors which will be the future of the club.
