Time for some proper cricket!

Sawston and Babraham start their red ball and white kit campaign with their second trip to Norfolk. They will be looking to extend their winning run to ten on the spin, and six from six this term. The timed matches can make it more difficult to keep a winning run going, as the draw can come into it. They will also be looking to avoid the rain that dogged last year’s brief encounter.

Horsford have had a bit of an up and down season with wins against Bury and Saffron Walden but defeats against Witham and a tight one last week against Sudbury. They have recruited Neil Hornbuckle, the new skipper, Tom Nudd and Will Bryan following a Club restructure in the close season. They currently sit seventh in the table but are one of the sides that have already had their free week.

Looking at the stats it would appear runs have been at a premium so far this season, although they made a good go of chasing 260 last week, something the Rams potent and varied attack will be looking to exploit. On the bowling front the Metcalfs, Callum and Ethan, with support from the skipper look to be the main dangers. The Rams make three changes with Luke Spears, Sean Ward and Matthew Day coming in for Nathan Buck, Callum McLean and Robbie Matthews.

The other three sides will be looking to get back to winning ways despite over stretched squads, and probably a few hangovers following Marc Pearson’s wedding! The seconds entertain St.Ives and Warboys, the thirds have a daunting trip to Parkers Piece to face their NCI counterparts and the fourths also play their NCI counterparts at Babraham. There are promotions of Naga, and the Moultons plus the first game for a number of years for Rebecca Free and Charlie Borley, and a debut for Prashant Yadav.
