Player Update - Departures

Since the end of 2022 season we there has been a number of comings and going within the 1st team squad.
Departures:

After 4 incredibly successful seasons at the club, Tim Moses has made the decision to move on for 2023. Tim has relocated which makes playing for the club this year virtually impossible. Tim has been a huge part of the 1st team squad in our most successful period where we have captured 1 x Cambs & Hunts Premier title and 2 x East Anglian Premier League crowns.

George Darlow is the next departure for 2023. George has been a huge character within the club and played a huge part in our EAPL successes. The spinning all-rounder has played an integral part in many of our best performances in the Premier League since 2020 and with promotion at work and relocation at home, traveling in the EAPL became impossible.

2 further players not returning this year are Australian Pete Hatzoglou and former pro Nathan Buck. Both players were integral parts of last years title winning squad and will be huge losses to the team and club. We were delighted to aid Pete’s development as a cricketer which resulted in selection in the 2022 Hundred competition where he represented the Oval Invicibles. Since then Pete has been a star of the Abu Dhabi T10 League and representing the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League.

Nathan who signed as our First Class player for 2022 made huge impact within the squad and on the pitch and off the pitch. An incredibly popular member of the team with many match winning performances over the season with the bat but his most memorable bowling performance came with the ball in the final game of the season against Mildenhall, with his final spell of bowling capturing us our 2nd league title. We had hoped following his release from Northamptonshire he would be able to relocate more local to Sawston and play for us again in 2023, but with work commitments this has not been possible. We are really hopeful to see Bucky feature for the club again in the future.

We would like to thank all 4 players for their amazing commitment and performances for the club. We wish them all the best in the future and all will always be welcome to represent the club again in the future.
